The Power Of God’s Word Through Impossible Situations
God’s Word always comes forth to challenge our circumstances. There is not a problem that a simple loyalty to God’s Word cannot change. The siege of Samaria and the famine that the Israelites endured were divine opportunities for God to intervene. In other words, He was bringing glory to Himself through the circumstances in their lives. The Word from God through Elisha challenged their existing circumstances. The message was not based upon anything Elisha had seen with his natural eyes. The circumstances were still the same. People were still dying.
Elisha spoke the Word, and God set in motion the events that would bring about the miracle that he needed….1 Thus saith the Lord, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. 2 Kings 7:1. The power of God’s Word spoken by Elisha was based upon his confidence in his miracle-working God. There was no doubt, no hesitation, just a simple faith in God. God’s Word possessed enough power within itself to produce the miracle that was needed, for it was God’s Word.
FAITH IS A FACT, BUT FAITH IS ALSO AN ACT! The key to receiving the manifestation was the Word itself. It was backed by Elisha’s action to speak the WORD BEFORE he saw any visible manifestation. As God had promised, the very next day….16 A measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord. 2 Kings 7:16.
God’s Word came forth to meet the needs of the people of Samaria. His Word is full of His promises to you. Regardless of how distressing or impossible your situation may seem, there is a Word from God to meet your need.
And He said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.
