PRAYER IS A LIFELINE OF COMMUNICATION TO GOD

Through life, we at EOGM have faced major crises and all types of personal challenges in businesses and ministries; yet, we have always agreed that we would never make any major decision or conduct any activities without first spending time in fervent prayer to seek God’s direction: Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: 8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. Isaiah 55:6, 8

We have learned to have a total dependence upon God to impart to us His wisdom and give to us the revelation knowledge and answers that we need. We do not depend on our own knowledge or abilities. Pray. Ask God for wisdom. God has promised that:

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

~James 1:5

The key to having the power that was manifested in the Early Church is to make time for sustained, dedicated, and self-sacrificing prayer. The apostles and disciples lived a lifestyle of being in constant prayer. The fate of the Church was at stake! They faced the awesome challenge of laying a strong foundation for the Church that would endure through and overcome the onslaughts of Satan. Their commitment is revealed in: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word. Acts 6:4

You will find that the disciples prayed in times of crisis, before choosing deacons or ordaining elders, and before any major undertaking. We read about Paul’s unceasing prayers for the believers: We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers. 1 Thess. 1:2  And his admonition: Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Phil. 4:6

God is going to shake this world so strongly that we will have to get back to the knowledge that it is God Who provides our daily bread. We are going to have to know that….

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedth out of the mouth of God.

~Matt.4:4
