ONCE GOD SPOKE IT – THE BLESSINGS CANNOT BE CHANGED
Think about the significance of this to you today. Through Christ, the fullness of God’s blessing has been released. He has not only redeemed you from the curse of the law, but He has transferred all of the blessings to you that God has to offer—including the Abrahamic-Covenant blessing. You are no longer living under a curse. You are living under God’s commanded blessings! 14 To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit. Gal. 3:14 (AMP).
God never intended for His blessings to stop. The blessing that was spoken by God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob could not be broken. God had commanded His blessings upon the children of Israel, and they were blessed. The blessing is the supernatural power of God that is imparted into our life when it is directed to do so by God’s delegated authority. The blessing, once spoken, becomes a reality. It cannot be changed. Balaam had been commanded by God to speak a blessing over the Israelites, and there was nothing that he or Barak could do to change it. When King Barak, of Moab, asked Balaam to pronounce a curse upon the children of Israel. Balaam said: 8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed” or shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied? Num. 23:8. Instead of speaking a curse, He blessed the children of Israel. When Barak persisted, Balaam answered: 19 God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? 20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and He hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. Num. 23:19-20.
By faith, we receive Christ and become the sons of God. By faith, we inherit the promise of God’s Spirit and all of His blessings. As a result of belonging to Christ, we are Abraham’s seed. We will inherit Abraham’s blessings! Paul said: 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to promise. Gal. 3:29. It is possible for you to walk out from under His blessings through disobedience and unbelief, but there is nothing that any man or evil spirit can do to stop His blessings from raining down upon your life when you Obey His Word and believe that His promises are true. His blessings are unchangeable and irreversible! When you fill your heart and mind with the Word and with God’s precepts and keep them before you continually, the commanded blessing of God will be upon you.
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the Voice of the Lord thy God.
