LIFT HIM UP – HE DID IT ALL FOR YOU
Let Christ Himself be your example as to what your attitude should be. For He, Who had always been God by nature, did not cling to his prerogatives as God’s equal, but stripped Himself of all privilege by consenting to be a slave by nature and being born as mortal man. And, having become man, He humbled Himself by living a life of utter obedience, even to the extent of dying, and the death He died was the Name beyond all names, so that at the Name of Jesus “every knee shall bow”, whether in Heaven or earth or under the earth. And that is why, in the end, “every tongue shall confess” that Jesus Christ” is the Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.
7 But emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. Phil. 2:7
23 And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified and exalted. 24 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest. 25 The one who loves his life [eventually] loses it [through death], but the one who hates his life in this world [and is concerned with pleasing God] will keep it for life eternal. John 12:23-25
Many believed that Jesus came for the Jews only. But when Jesus said, “Whoever serves Me must follow Me,” His message is for everyone. Don’t allow social or racial differences to become barriers to the Gospel. Take the Good News to all people.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
~1 Cor. 15:55-57 NIV
