Change Your Focus – Remove Every Limitation

Change Your Focus - Remove Every Limitation

God is a God of purpose, plan, design, and objectivity. He has a specific purpose for your life. This is a season to walk in purpose. Regardless of who you are, what your age is, or which natural limitations you may have, God has given you abilities, talents, and an anointing to fulfill that purpose. What vision, purpose, goals and dreams has God given to you? 23 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve. Col. 3:23-24

God’s instruction to Habakkuk was to write the vision and make it plain so that those who would read it would be able to understand it and run with it. 3 For the vision is for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:3. If you are unsure about God’s purpose for your life, set aside time to seek His direction. Spend time in prayer and in the Word. Ask God to reveal His purpose for you and what He wants you to accomplish in your life for Him.

We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but with God we can know perfect peace even in turmoil. When we are devoted to Him, our whole attitude is steady and stable. Supported by God’s unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos. Do you want peace? Keep your thoughts on and your trust in God.  (And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Phil 4:7).

Christians often feel angry and discouraged as they see what goes on. Habakkuk complained vigorously to God about the situation. God’s answer to Habakkuk is the same answer he would give us. “Be patient! I will work out my plans in my perfect timing.” It isn’t easy to be patient, but it helps to remember that God hates sin even more than we do. Punishment of sin will certainly come. As God told Habakkuk, “Wait for it.” To trust God fully means to trust Him even when we don’t understand why events occur as they do.

Commit and dedicate your life to fulfilling that purpose. Be willing to lay aside your own self-centered goals, desires, and plans. As you fully surrender your life, goals, and plans to Christ, you will find true life and will be able to live it to its fullest. Jesus said:

For whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.

~Matt. 16:25
